Love to Love

They love who love to love, I hear –
The bird goes lonely in the cold –
Disjunct is all I have today
As hands are dealt, and players fold

The world’s not innocent in this,
As winter stays upon the heart;
They love who love to love, I’m told –
But one alone’s still one
Apart
