I have heard it oft alluded,
And sometimes, plain spoken of:
Than men use love to get sex, and
Women use sex to get love

Some there are who claim that science
Sums it all rather abrupt:
Girls choose jerks to sire children
Then, nice guys to bring them up

Others say that evolution
Is tightly to blame (not loose)
That post-menopausal women
For sex have no further use

Cynicism is a liar,
Love & cynics will collide:
Yet, I find, I’m rather happy
With what I have
