once, a man

once, a man i almost knew
taught me everything he could;
now, the air and water hold
all of his constituents

late, a little of him comes
’round when i’m not looking good;
seen, in puddles, lakes and seas,
and all sorts of issuance

mad, i know that it must seem;
but to me’s compelling —
once, a man, who is no more –
but who’s all
indwelling
