Leviathans of Yesterday

So many things that once held sway
Don’t matter anymore;
Leviathans of yesterday
Are just the junk next door

The railroads, once so mighty then,
Mere shadows of the past:
As will be all our boastings when
The future’s here
At last

  1. So true. It’s hard to imagine how important the railroad was way back when. Central to everything and now just ignored. Nice.

  2. Dear Owen,
    THAT IS AN AWESOME PHOTOGRAPH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    I have been thinking about going back into 35 mm film and dynamite photos like this are really convincing me to do so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Thank you again for you and your great blog!,
