The Damage We May Do

Our lives gets choked and chafing, so
We choose to walk away,
And break the bonds that bind us, to
Begin a brighter day

We will not see the somebody(s)
We scar, or ever suss
The damage we may do because
It’s only

  1. I heard a lecture on how we always view life like we’re the protagonist. In a way we have to because we only see the world through our own eyes. We can try to gain perspective, but even listening to someone else we put it through our own filter. Your poem made me think of this.
