I Feel Her Love

I feel her love, it circles all around me,
Like ripples in a never-ending tide
That tickles with the currents that surround me,
And leaves me soothed, whate’er maybe outside

And though it seems mundane, and now, archaic,
I have it with me everywhere I go –
A married love: how common, how prosaic,
How far from glamour, or most types of show

For wanting is no shame – the shame’s in having –
We can admit to weakness to a fault;
But what we have in blessing goes unspoken,
Inside a box, surrounded by a vault.

Because of where I’ve been, where I began,
I know her love makes me a lucky man
