But Still…

Superman Thinking

I dressed up as Superman
And jumped off our backyard grill
I was four years old back then
And I was dumb. And young. But still…

I asked Jenny to the prom
She declined with haste and will
I fourteen and she a senior
Young and dumb, I was. But still…

I tried parasailing once
My height-fear I thought I’d kill
Seventeen and just not thinking
Panic. Dumb and young. But still…

I can hope its understood
By my daftly seeking glories:
Old and smart may make life good –
Young and dumb makes for great stories

Parasailing
