So long you captivated me,
But I said nothing to you —
Just lost, for years, within your eyes;
Not knowing what to do

It is a very subtle art,
The way that you ensared me;
With every piercing glance you gave
It’s like somebody dared me

Be man enough and brave enough
To take what might be mine;
To demonstrate that I would know
When all the stars align

For now, I sit in agony;
Not strong, not swift, not handsome —
So long you captivated me,
And my heart’s out
For ransom
