Summers down the by waterside;
Split barrel grilltops smoking in the sunshine
Suntanned, sunburned, all-but fried;
Breeze lightened sailboats out beyond the swim line
Diving off docks where the barnacles grew,
Swimming all day in the black bayou,
Pigging on burgers on a paper plate —
Summer days past in the sunshine state
