The Walker

You have walked long
With sorrow
And in pain

You have traversed this distance
Alone
And silent

There
You have seen the darkness of men’s souls
The hollowness in their dreams
The blindness of their strivings
And felt, firsthand
The bland indifference of their cruelty

Yes, you have seen these things
Known these things
Felt these things

So today you will walk by me —
What will you see?

Will I lighten your pain?

Or will I add one last panel
To shut in the darkness
Forever?

      1. I feel like that all the time. So now I’m desperately reading the Power of Now to help me from jumping off a cliff. That’s a really bad joke, I know someone who did exactly that. I enjoy your writing, so there’s a difference you are making right there 🙂
