The autumn was immense that year –
In color, and in sky —
We camped beneath the tallest trees
Along the riverside
I saw the world turn inside out,
And tears come to her eyes —
The autumn was immense that year,
Too large for ones
Our size
The autumn was immense that year –
In color, and in sky —
We camped beneath the tallest trees
Along the riverside
I saw the world turn inside out,
And tears come to her eyes —
The autumn was immense that year,
Too large for ones
Our size
she stopped in autumn
to take stock of what she had
and found much there that
she might have undervalued
like coffee, and gratitude
Autumn did what Autumn does
To Tracy and to John;
They found love among the leaves:
Deciding, thereupon,
Together they would spend their days.
So there days were spent:
Not knowing love would go the same
Time that Autumn went
The barley’s gotten ripe and full,
The harvest time is here;
The days are turning cold and dry,
The clouds are fleeing from the sky,
And wintertime grows near
The barley fields are thick with grain
For feed and malt and beer:
The days are growing short and wide,
But harvest has our needs supplied,
As wintertime grows near —
The days are colder, gray and slow –
The last few golden grains will go –
The winter will
Be here
Soft and sweet, the fall
Sheds its leaves
For naked winter
This morning, Venus kissed me from the sky
As cold and clear, the morning brushed my face
The neighborhood asleep, in dreams and dark
The only movement, one lone heart a-race —
And I, the mover, strange in my remorse
Beneath sweet Venus and her stars, so stark
A glow from ages, eons, long ago
And lights that know no shame, only
The dark
The leaves are full of maple fire,
Autumn rages quietly;
With touches reaching ever higher
So invitingly
To climb way out on Autumn’s branch;
To Fall, just as the name implies —
The first to catch the maple fire
Sees the light
Then dies
The air, it slowly chills
While autumn hills
Style up in lush new robes
everyone must be, well, somewhere –
so, why shouldn’t i be here?
day is bright, the leaves are falling:
and i see things pretty clear
from this vantage point i’ve scouted.
so, don’t look at me askance;
everyone must be, well, somewhere —
hop on up and
take a chance
