I longed to have some candy,
It was a sight to see;
If I could just unwrap it, I
Would taste the ecstasy

And it took quite a while, for
It had been wrapped with care;

My wife has cooked the meal tonight:
Spaghetti, served with wine –
I pause before the first big bite,
It’s looking mighty fine

And so my mouth starts watering,
Expectance: off the charts —
The perfect meal is perfect, even
Right
Before
It starts
