Life is complicated, and friendship even more so: we ask for honesty from our friends, but also expect kindness and loyalty, which can be at variance with honesty. When, however, we accept the complexities and messiness of life and human relations, we realize that even the most honest of our friends can only give one piece of our own puzzles — an essential, vital piece, but still only one.
