Autumn Air

She wakes up to a morning kiss, 
And thinks, my Lord, how I've missed this -- 
When things just happen as they must 
And closeness feels like sacred trust -- 

She rises to the window there 
And raising, breathes in autumn air; 
The sun benign, a distant friend, 
And knows she's finally 

On the mend
