From Where We Are

Don't despise the child you were. 
Do not hate your gifts, or path: 
For every work of art takes time, 
And makes its impact, unaware. 

It isn't that all things are good, 
It's that we build, from where are, 
With things we picked up where we've been, 
And can make beauty out of that, I think.
