old prejudice

we have old prejudice to kill
so we can substitute our new ones.

in prior days and years, mere appearance
told us what we needed to know:
now, the same appearance
tells us something different,
but still suffices.

we are now so advanced, morally, that
images outweigh information, and
affiliation easily defeats
empathy
