Just last night,
At a socially distanced restaurant,
We saw a young couple on a date

She was obviously
Very in to him,
And he appeared to be
Grateful,
Responsive, and
Very gentle
In his way with her

And I realize
It can be dangerous
Judging such things
By outward appearance,
But…

I was happy for them,
These strangers:
As I am happy for anyone
Who finds anything like
Love in this life

For love is everything

That really matters
