“We need to explode this myth
About nice guys,” she wrote,
“If they aren’t jerks to your face
They are just being manipulative.”
And I thought to myself,
Although perhaps unfairly,
How must this woman’s father
Have treated her
Or not treated her
For her to be so sure about
All men?
Like any generalization the idea that all men are bad, is sad (and ignorant?) no matter who placed the idea in her mind. It could have been her mom devaluing her dad. No matter, it’s still sad and the myth must stop.
