and skating slowly in the snow;
an ice rink at the carnival,
a place she hoped he’d want to go

the crowds around them busying

themselves with heaven-knows-what things.
an after walk, a cold first kiss,
a closing door,
elated bliss,

and two who found, quite unexpecting,
liking someone can lead to

connecting
