Semblances – 1

Separate and unbelieving,
Fallow as a open field,
Appearances can be deceiving,
But some judgments cannot be appealed
When what’s congealed
Is under layerings concealed,
For we, the grieving
 
Separate and undeserving
Fallow as a winter lost,
Appearances are so self-serving,
But some values come at quite a cost,
When what’s been tossed
Is under all that permafrost,
To our unnerving
