When Autumn Kissed the Trees

When autumn kissed the trees,
We knew our happiness;
A time of love and ease,
To live and acquiesce

But colors fade and blight,
And winter comes, at last —
Then what was once so bright
Is soon, and ever, past.

When autumn kissed the trees,
A breeze blew through, and far:
And passed beyond our ken,
And touched a distant star

The physics are not clear,
But this I know, today —
That season you were here,
And now you’ve gone

Away
