Desert Drive

Driven: dusty, dry and dawning
On a rambling, reckless road;
Stuck inside for too long, static,
Mile after mile, just to move

Detours and diversionaries:
Sought to soothe the ceaseless march of care —
Memories, just mines I’m missing,
Rain that threatens, but that never comes
