Beach Date

They tasted Red Stripe all night long,
And moved to reggae tunes,
The ocean cried its lover’s song
Among the starry dunes

The night seemed infinite, and kind,
A perfect sort of basis:
But fear, like love, is stone-black blind
And holds itself
