a trilogy of lies

she watched the ship capsize,
with all that this implies,
why is it hope leads us astray?
a trilogy of lies

he told at ev’ry turn,
with words to sear and burn,
why is it things turn out this way?
it seems we never learn

a lesson so replete,
as poisons we accrete,
what happened to our yesterday
to make it obsolete?

yet failing heart still tries —
in edge- and otherwise —
to finally put that book away:
a trilogy
of lies

  1. Reading your poetry is so disturbing;. Just yesterday i shared with one particular person, also a poet, an image almost like the one below. Most of my writing lands in a private journal. Of no ?relevance-it’s snowing outside.
