crowded times and seasons lonely,
time moves ever one way only,
signs are there for us to read ’em,
pointing both towards fate, and freedom,

seasons of allure, and maddening,
joy in planting, harvest saddening,
frigid winter strips us naked,
seeing if we’ve heart to take it,

shadows dull and eyesight failing,
standing, watching, on the railing,
seeking out what now is never,
