Marina Del Gray

Secondhand almost yachts occupy
Barnacled slips off seven wharves
Dreamt into existence
By upward-mobile schemers
Trapped within the same marriages
In which they trapped those
Others who came along for
The trip up onto floating
Royal barges which glimmer
Not under any sun but listless
Wait for new clouds and new
Owners of more pretention, who
Have not yet learned of how it is

Boats eventually sink
