The Chamomile Sea

Out where it snows popcorn and rains lemonade,
We drank root beer floats in a spot in the glade
By marshmallow rocks in a river of tea
That led through the hills to the Chamomile Sea

The scent of the air was like peppermint schnapps,
A light ice cream frost on the highest treetops —
As we sipped our cocoa you smiled at me
As birds made their way to the Chamomile Sea

At last we both slept on a blanket of stars
As comets drove by like a few late-night cars;
For we were as loving and safe as could be
Neath soft candy clouds, near
The Chamomile
Sea
