One Man’s View of Love and Marriage

Upstairs, sleeping is my wife
She’s given me so much in life
And loved me hard, through work and play
Since we wed, late one Summer day

Our early passion still survives
Though now its Autumn in our lives

We’d prior marriages that failed
But found over the walls we scaled
A treasure waiting there for us
Of love, respect,
Laughter
And trust
