Flowers in a Shop

This very morning just now

I’m walking by, and I can smell
The smell of flowers in a shop;
It brings me back to other times,
And so, I wander in and stop

And see it all in bright array.
These glories of the tree and field:
Reminders that what’s best is brief
And how we just press on when we
Should yield

  1. Your meter and rhythm have tightened up and improved !
    I notice a sense of mastery in the last few poems I found here.

    I like the pause before the truncated final line.
    Nice job.
