The Phantom Trees

I watched the phantoms in the dark,
They were disguised as trees;
Surrounding me with rustlings
Increasing my unease

They formed a guard me, blocking
Every sort of light —
And so, like Robert Frost, I’m one
Acquainted with the night

Because I am an initiate,
And I have understood —
The phantom trees have taught me well,
And so I’m here
For good
