She’d eat her sandwich on the lawn,
And check her friends on Instagram;
He saw her there most everyday,
And so his mind conceived a plan –

His friend would throw a frisbee, so
It would land near her feet,
And when he came to fetch it, then
The two of them would meet.

He saw her laughing, looking down,
When he, as planned, came running;
“I wondered when you’d get the nerve
To come by and say something”

He grinned that she had noticed him,
So he told her his name;
Now everyday, you’ll find her
Eating lunch there, just the same

Except that there are two of them
With sandwiches out there,
Sometimes, they eat off frisbees,
Which is weird, but they don’t care

For love is beautiful in time
And hallowed in intent:
And time that’s spent in loving
Cannot ever be
Misspent
