I see – I tell.
I feel – I don’t.
No, I will not confess —
The outer world’s a miracle:
The inner world’s a mess.
A bit of high rise spaciousness,
A twist of metal dreams;
The buildings sing of honor, as
The throbbing street way teems —
I rise, I fall,
I dip, I crest;
The city is a sea —
The outer world’s a masterpiece
To foreigners like me
But back somewhere, I know the dark
Has taken someone in;
And all the steel in all the world
Is so much useless tin
I watch, I wait,
I hope, I pray;
I stand aside, aloof —
The inner world has clarity
The truth is just the truth
For humans can build buildings to
Withstand the storms or quakes,
But cannot fix a human mind
When it gets bent
Or breaks
I love it when you say…
For humans can build buildings to
Withstand the storms or quakes,
But cannot fix a human mind
When it gets bent
Or breaks
We as humans can do some marvelous things in this world but the mind continues to leave us all confused. I never thought of it this way so thanks for putting out for me to read.
