The “Someday” Trip

Lake Return All her life, she’s sat there, watching
Boats go out and boats come in
All her weary days in torpor
Waiting always to begin
Her long journey out to somewhere
Somewhere that she’s never been

All her nights, she lies there, thinking
Of the journeys yet to be
Free from pain and daily worries
Brightly colored worlds to see
One day, when that boat goes sailing
And she’s on it
Finally
