It’s good to laugh; we need it for our souls
To hang together through the daily wear.
Our patience thins, we tire of old roles,
And life stays unremittingly unfair:

A thing we notice only when arrayed
Against ourselves. For sometimes, it will be
Unfairly in our favor, which we miss.
Injustice has this strange asymmetry.

But if we see this weakness, we may find
The pressure of it all well cut in half:
Let go of self, in part, and ease your mind,
Get on with life, but know:
It’s good to laugh
