Autumn Dreams

The criticism I receive
Still haunts me in my dreams;
And likely, ’cause I know
It’s mostly right —

The autumn wants to welcome me,
But as I age, it seems
That all of that’s
Demolished in the night

I open up the doorway that
Leads on to secret fall:
Where once, I played
In fantasies of love

Now, I find my path blocked
By a wall of my own feelings,
And loss of hope is all
That I
Dream of
