envelop me

summer, welcome to the dance
as your skirts of yellow-green
twirl across the world’s expanse
lavishness in pure citrine

not the heat of lassitude
nor the pining rays of sun
shall from me your ardor keep
latent want in everyone

who then summer’s dance shall view
might then want to join in too
swallow me in revelry
summer, come envelop me
