“Leave Your Life Behind”

“Just leave your life behind,” that’s what the Moon called out to me:
It spoke of fair adventure there beside the glowing sea.
Of dancing with abandon and of callous bald desire:
The moon, so full of sparks designed to set my life afire

But every inhibition that I have is out of choice
And with pain and mistakes, I’ve learned to speak with my own voice.
The Moon sought to unravel all the things that make up me:
Which seemed, upon reflection
Nothing but
Sheer lunacy
