The Age of Hubris

So, before you now you see
A strange part of history
That’s the era that we know
As the Age of Hubris

People fooled by politics
Vanity and parlor tricks
Turning on their neighbors while
Neighborhoods grow fruitless

Living thoughts of hate and blame
Charging others with the same
Idolizing people who
Flatter vanity

Science seen as deity
Thought homogeneity
Persons raised up to be gods
