I’m sure I would not recognize
Myself in someone else’s eyes
And human lives are time capsules
That few ever unearth
For those who know us now can’t see
What makes you – you, and makes me – me;
Whatever artifacts we leave
Scarcely describes the birth
Or life, of any of us here
For we’re both more than we appear
And less, in many ways
But all of us will leave behind
Some treasures of our heart or mind
That occupied our days
But who could reconstruct e’en part
Of what was once a beating heart
From books or music, pics or plates –
To decipher
